Introduction and Selection of Superior Accredited Study Programs in High Schools in Jambi City

Abstract
Many twelfth-grade high school students in Kota Jambi found difficulties and confusion in selecting a study program at a higher education institution. Their decision-making as far as choosing a study program that is suitable for their potential is critically low. This concern impacts their performance in higher education, which is bound to affect their overall achievements and, in the long run, can hamper their opportunities within the job market. Moreover, they are more willing to change their major or study program, which leads to wasted time and resources, in other words, costs. In addition to this, there is also a general lack of information and knowledge concerning higher education institutions and the accredited study programs that are offered within Jambi City. Thus, the Graduate Program Quality Assurance Unit of Universitas Jambi is tasked with disseminating information on selecting accredited study programs, particularly within Jambi Province. The goal is to ensure that twelfth-grade students residing in Jambi City can make informed decisions when selecting a study program that aligns with their potential without external guidance.
