Inovasi Sistem Keamanan Peternakan Sapi Terpadu Berbasis Teknologi Digital untuk Ketahanan Pangan Indonesia

Abstrak
The Indonesian government is seriously working to strengthen food security, especially in the cattle farming sector. Politeknik Negeri Padang, as an educational institution, actively participates in this program thru community service with the aim of empowering farmers thru the use of digital technology. One area with great potential in West Sumatra is Nagari Supayang, Solok Regency, where cattle farmers still use traditional methods. The problems faced by farmers in this area include the high risk of theft, difficulty in monitoring livestock health, and a lack of information and modern technology in farm management. To address this challenge, this community service project implements an integrated cattle farm security system innovation based on digital technology. As a focused initial step, the proposing team implemented a security system using CCTV cameras. The installation of four CCTV units, two inside the enclosure and two in the surrounding area, aims to enhance surveillance, prevent theft, and monitor the animals' condition in real-time. This system allows farmers to monitor livestock conditions remotely thru an app on their smartphones. This initial implementation also serves as the foundation for the development of more complex systems in the future, including the integration of sensors, RFID, and AI-based data analysis, which are collectively expected to improve farm efficiency, productivity, and safety.
